As Head of Business Analytics at the Innovation Factory, Peter is responsible for the development of spinout businesses and licensing opportunities spawned from the many new technologies that are developed through each of the schools and institutes within the faculty. He works closely with faculty members to realise the potential social, environmental of economic benefit from these developments.

Peter is a Mechanical Engineer by training and experienced business leader with a strong commercial bias, having worked across differing ownership structures, including PE backed, family owned and global corporate businesses.

He began his career in 1982 with a student apprenticeship at Leyland Trucks (now Paccar) giving him a sound grounding in manufacturing within Heavy Automotive, in conjunction with a mechanical engineering degree from University of Salford.

An MBA from Alliance Manchester Business School enabled him to progress into a variety of senior leadership positions in manufacturing and engineering businesses, specialising in driving step changes to deliver new growth, realigning businesses and organisations to new markets - by helping them better understand their core value offering and to effectively align this to market opportunity.

Since 2013, Peter has supported the Full-Time and Global part-time MBA programmes at Alliance Manchester Business School, providing project supervision and coaching for groups on the “live” business consultancy modules, occasional lectures and input for continual improvement and evolution of the consultancy modules.
