Following a successful launch in 2019 and the renewal of the University’s Wellcome Trust Translational Partnership Award (TPA), Translation Manchester has announced that they will be hosting the “Translational Research at Manchester 2021” event on 8th-9th December this year.

The event will celebrate the success of the TPA initiative to date and look forward to more future collaborations and impact delivered through the translational research support.

We will be joined by Sir Richard Leese, Chair-designate of the Integrated Care Board (ICB) for Greater Manchester as our keynote speaker. The event will be opened by Professor Luke Georghiou, the University of Manchester’s Deputy President and Deputy Vice-Chancellor who will be chairing an online session with distinguished speakers including Professor Colette Fagan (Vice President for Research), Professor Nigel Hooper (Associate Vice-President for Research) and Dr Louise Farrand (Operations Director at the Innovation Factory). The sessions will highlight exemplars and challenges within translational research. There will be an opportunity to engage in a panel discussion around translation and commercialisation of research.

We would be delighted if you would join us along with Manchester’s research community to discuss the highlights and challenges of conducting translational research at Manchester and discover the opportunities and support available to you to help progress your research along the translational pathway. If you are involved or have an interest in translational research, this event is for you.
