Catherine is Chief Executive Officer of the University of Manchester Innovation Factory and brings extensive experience working at the interface between academia and the commercial world.
She has a strong track record in building partnerships and programmes that support knowledge exchange, collaboration and the commercialisation of research.
Catherine has led and supported high-performing teams across the innovation and knowledge exchange landscape and is passionate about creating impact through external collaboration and translational research.
Before joining the University, Catherine worked in the pharmaceutical industry, leading programmes focused on the development and implementation of novel technologies for API synthesis and manufacture. Her academic background is in synthetic organic chemistry, with research experience at the Universities of Manchester, Oxford, Nottingham and Leeds.
