Gemma is an Investment and Licensing Manager at the University of Manchester Innovation Factory. She has a background in cell biology and translational cancer research, with a PhD in Molecular Cell Biology from UCL and postdoctoral research experience at The Institute of Cancer Research.
More recently, Gemma worked at the medical research charity LifeArc, focusing on translating cutting-edge scientific research into patient impact. There, she was part of the internal due diligence team, applying translational and scientific expertise to assess opportunities and undertake comprehensive diligence and landscaping activities to inform funding and investment decisions and wider strategic priorities. Her experience spans multiple areas of biomedical research, and she has a strong understanding of the translation pathway, from early discovery through to clinical development and regulatory approval.
Gemma supports later-stage life science projects through their commercial transactions.
