Iain is Head of Business Analytics with accountability for the delivery of projects to support licensing transactions and the creation of business plans for spinout companies.
Iain has over 30 years’ experience working in the medical device industry with Smith + Nephew in various roles from Research Scientist to Project and Programme Management. Throughout his career Iain has worked on projects covering early phase research, new product development and manufacturing, as well as extensive experience of working with third parties on developing offered technologies.
During his time at Smith + Nephew, Iain managed several projects from concept through to launch. Prior to joining the Innovation Factory Iain held the position of Research & Innovation Director at Smith + Nephew where he was responsible for developing business cases on early phase technologies in order to feed the product development pipeline.
Iain has a PhD in Polymer Chemistry from the University of Liverpool.
