Nic is Director of Portfolio at the University of Manchester Innovation Factory, where he leads the development and management of the University’s spinout and licensing portfolio.
Nic completed a PhD in biomedical sciences at the University of Leeds before moving into commercial roles with Bunzl Healthcare and DeSoutter Medical.
He returned to higher education in 2017 as Business Development Manager at The University of Manchester, later joining the Graphene Engineering Innovation Centre, where he secured major partnerships, led international delegations and headed the composites theme of the €1bn Graphene Flagship programme. He went on to establish the University’s Consultancy Services team before joining the Innovation Factory in 2024.
