Ross is an Investment & Licensing Manager (Science & Engineering) at the University of Manchester Innovation Factory. Ross is a chemist by training and a lifelong science enthusiast who holds a PhD in Chemistry from The University of Manchester. He began his career at UoM spinout Nanoco, where he progressed from research and development into product management, supporting the commercialisation of advanced materials through licensing partnerships and global customer collaborations.

Ross has since held commercial leadership roles with companies including Scott Bader, Eluceda and Alteo Alumina, building experience across advanced materials, specialty chemicals, and emerging technologies. Ross brings first-hand insight into what partners look for when evaluating new technologies from his time in commercial organisations. He is passionate about helping researchers identify the strongest commercial pathways for their innovations and is excited to support the journey from world-leading research to products, spinouts and licensing opportunities that deliver lasting social, environmental, and economic impact.
